The Opera Singer Who Jumped Into His Dinner

Even funnier than The Matador Who Ran Away From The Spider, The Opera Singer Who Jumped Into His Dinner ...  is about Italian opera singer, Guiseppe.  While at home in Rome he visits a festival ... and all his friends are there –Maria, Mario and Rosa.

They are entertained by a white-faced mime that doesn’t talk ... and a “brave man eating fire as they walk”.  Tummy-growling Giuseppe gets hungry and does something silly.  He jumps into his dinner.  Then has a hard time getting out ... because the spaghetti is ... “slippery, sloppy and very floppy”.

The rest of the story is all about how Maria, Mario and Rosa ... and the angry chef ... get Giuseppe out of the tall hot-pot ... of

sloppy spaghetti and meatballs.  They use wiry line, liney wire, stringy twine and finally rope.

The Snow Skier Who Got Into A Tangle (Leaving Him To Dangle!)

Meet Anton the professional snow skier ... who skis down the mountain too fast.

Set in Austria, The Snow Skier Who Got Into A Tangle (Leaving Him To Dangle!), describes how Anton is travelling in a chair    lift, going up the mountain.  When he rises to get off the chair, one of his braces catch on the bottom edge. So we see Anton, arms and legs waving, as the chair is going around, “to go back down/And pick up more skiers, from the snow ground”.

To rescue Anton, Heinz, the chair lift operator stops the chair lift.  Then Heinz and Ingrid help get Anton down.  This quirky        tale ends with a warning to readers - to not “be sloppy/And wear your braces floppy!”  When they go to the snow.

The Basketball Player Who Got

Stuck In His Roof

Mike is a basketball player ... who’s in a team

with his friends, John, Tom, Matt and Joe ...

and they all live in Chicago.

Mike’s team plays a basketball game.  Their fans

cheer them on.  There is a tie, then Tom scores

which means that Mike’s team wins!  However,

it doesn’t matter which team has won, as long

    as they have fun.

When Mike and Joe are talking on the phone

the next day, Mike hears a scratching sound.

Yes, the noise is coming from the roof.

So Mike climbs up there ... and guess what happens!

“Mike was too tall/And the hole was too small”.

The story ends with Joe pulling Mike out - by

giving his feet a tug.  And what did they see?

... “a squirrel running free!”

The Cricketer Who Went For A Sail Behind A Whale!

Two cricketers, Harry and Jayden, go fishing for the day. Harry thinks he’s got a huge fish ... at the end of his line, but it’s a whale.

So, Harry ends up going for a ride in the ocean, with the whale in the lead!  Jayden shouts at Harry to let go of the rod, then

throws him a “life jacket.  To help him float.”

A “whale of a tale” - that is full of action, The Cricketer Who Went For A Sail Behind A Whale! – is an Australian story ... that also explains what cricket is ... and how it is played.

Harry along with Jayden is batting.  “Jayden hits the fast ball/High, into the sun/There is no time to stall/They need one more run”.

And, as for the whale?  Well, you’ll have to read this story to find out!
